Realist Art in Oz: pastel wren

Birds are not usually my preferred subject for drawings, but these little birds are just beautiful. We have them visit our native garden sometimes and they are lovely to observe as they play around in the trees courting each other.

Welcome to Realist Art in Oz. Pastel, inkpen and pencil drawings of varying subjects are displayed here, as examples of the types of art work I enjoy producing.
The detail of my art work is not completely clear as you look at these pictures.
Each picture contains very fine detail, such as, in the pastels the strokes of the pastel lines can be as fine as a hair. The pieces done in the style of pointilism contain minute inkpen dots and no drawn lines.
I mainly use Faber-Castell products to create my work. They are very easy to use and are of excellent quality.
With my work, I am somewhat of a perfectionist, which is not always a good thing, as those of you who are like me, will understand. We can create frustrations for ourselves in trying to get it 'too' right, though the end result is always rewarding.
